So we found out who the winner of American Idol season 8 is. After the suspense and tooooo many performances to make us wait, the answer finally came. And the winner is Kris Allen. Wtf? Yeah that’s what I thought. Adam got robbed!

Although I like Kris, he is a good looking nice fellow and I do like his voice, Adam is so much better. Even Kris could hardly accept the title saying that Adam was the one that deserved it. But as they are both nice guys, you can hardly begrudge Kris his win, even if he didn’t deserve it based on talent.

The show was jam packed full of famous stars performing and catching up with the contestants from the auditions to the final 13. Damn I’d forgotten some of them were ever in the competition! It also meant we had to see Alexis Grace pretend she is a diva again. Girl sometimes even forgets to sing in the mike as she is so busy posing provocatively. Remember what she looked like at her audition? Plain Jane all the way only she took Simon’s advice to dirty up a little way too serious. Her face still reads like a plain Jane no matter how much red lipstick she smears on.

A surpise duet was between Lil Rounds and Queen Latifah. I don’t know why I was so enthusiastic about Lil at the beginning of the season. I mean she did that Mary J Blige song ant I thought she was great, than I just found everything boring and Karaoke. Chris sang with Keith Urban which was ok. Then the girls sang with Fergie. Please Fergie, dye your hair back to blond, the dark is just scary. But she sang live and ended with the Black Eyed Peas joining her on stage.

Allison and Cindy Lauper sang Time after Time which was fine. Unfortunately Danny Gokey sang and danced (why god why?) along to Lional Ritchie. That’s one contestant I never ever want to hear from again. The group song saw the final 13 all dancing away. A little awkward was Scott. Sure he is blind but put the guy behind a piano or on a chair or something. Now others had to lead him to his place. Kara had her moment with bikini girl on stage, showing her once and for all who sings ‘Vision of Love’ better. Ha the girl was not amused with Kara on stage, you could tell. Simon and Randy loved her however, especially since her boobs are three times the size now than they were at the audition. Then Kara opened her dress to show off her bikini bod only after a tenth second glimpse quickly closed her garment. Oh well, I thought she was good fun and am on her side all the way kicking bikini girl’s irritating little butt. Also the girl can sing! Really good! Maybe she should audition next year if they don’t renew her contract as a judge. Adam kicked ass performing with Kiss and then he and Kris joined Queen for a rendition of We Are the Champions. It was so OBVIOUS that Adam  was the better one. You couldn’t even hear Kris.

Once again, nice guy, bet young girls find him super duper cute but he wasn’t the better singer.

Hopefully we will see more of Adam in the future. He is the kind of performer that can hold his own and will be a hit with audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. For now Kris is the winner of American Idol. After the long journey it feels quite strange. No two nights a week filled with suspense, songs and cries of a cat? Hopefully next year’s season matches up to this one! I for one can’t wait.
